The fact that there are coups and counter coups in the world - particularly in Africa - cannot be over emphasized.
Simply put, a coup is a violent seizure of power usually planned and executed by the military or armed forces of a given region or country.
Counter coup, on the other hand, is an action taken to overthrow a government as a result of a previous overthrow carried out. The cause of this is usually frustration or anger resulted by the first coup.
